Sooji Cheela is a popular food of North-India. It’s a pancake served with green chutney. This recipe is quick, wholesome, low calorie, Protein rich and this ideal for breakfast and evening snack.

Ingredients

  • Sooji/Semolina 3 cup
  • Plain Flour 100 gm
  • Oats Powder 100 gm
  • Plain Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Water 2 cup
  • Chopped Onion 3 tbsp
  • Grated Carrots 2 tbsp
  • Chopped Bell Pepper 2 tbsp
  • Ginger 1 Tsp
  • Chopped Green Chilli
  • Freshly Chopped coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Baking Soda (Optional)

Directions

1In a mixing bowl, add sooji, plain flour, oats powder, plain Yogurt. Mix them nicely. Add 2 cup of water. Mix them and prepare a semi-thick batter. Cover the lid and rest it for 20 mins.

 

2After 20 mins the batter has the best consistency. Now add chopped onions, bell pepper, grated carrot, green chilli, ginger 1tsp, coriander leaves and baking soda which is optional, mix all the ingredients.

 

3Heat a flat tava on a moderate flame. Add 4 to 5 drops of oil, spread it with a tissue or a  small cotton cloth. Pour on hot in form of round shape like Dosa. Pore oil all around edges. Cook for 2-3 mins. Flip other side and cook for another 2mins. once both sides are done. Remove onto a plate. Serve with a green coriander chutney.

4For Green Coriander Chutney we need to chop green chillies, one whole garlic clove, a 1inch piece of ginger,3 cups of roughly chopped coriander or cilantro, add 2 tsp salt as your taste. All ingredients put in the blender. Now pour little water in it and blend all the ingredients. Check the mixture and blend it till smooth. Take out the Chutney into a bowl and add lemon juice in it and mix it well. Serve it with Sooji Cheela.
