Famous Egg Devil is the finger licking recipe for all age. it is also known as Dimer Devil. This is one of the popular snacks of Bengal and incredible in taste. The reason why this dish is known as  Egg Devil is because of its taste. These famous egg devils are so delicious that one feels like a devil to grab other’s bite and so people started calling it egg devil.

  • 2 medium boiled, peeled potato
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped green chilies
  • 6 boiled egg
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • salt as required
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger, garlic paste
  • Chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 tbsp garam masala powder
  • Enough oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
For Batter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 egg

1  To prepare the famous egg devil recipe, put a pressure cooker over medium flame and boil peeled potatoes in it. Let them cook for 2-3 whistles. Once done, turn off the flame and let the steam release on its own. Then, transfer them to a bowl and mash well and make sure no lumps are remaining. Keep this bowl aside until required. Afterward, hard boil the eggs in a large vessel over medium flame and once they are done, keep them aside.

2 First of all, put a pan over medium flame and heat oil in it. Once the oil is hot enough, add chopped onions, garlic, green chilies. Saute them well until the raw aroma of garlic goes away and the onions are pink in color. Then, add turmeric powder, salt,garam masala powder, cumin powder in the pan and mix well. Add a little water in the pan so as to avoid the spices getting burnt.

3Therefore, Stir and cook for about a minute. Next, add mashed potatoes in it and combine with the masala mixture well while stirring constantly. Meanwhile, peel the hard-boiled eggs and cut them lengthwise in a bowl.

4 Now, make the batter for egg devil. For the same, take a mixing bowl and add corn flour in it along with all-purpose flour. Crack open the remaining egg in it and add salt. Mix well and add little water if the batter is too thick.

5 Finally, you need to make the devil. Take a half cut egg and wrap it with the potato stuffing and shape it to a full egg. Make the rest of the devil in the same manner. Now, time to arrange all-purpose flour on a clean plate and the bread crumbs on another plate. Dip the newly formed egg in the flour batter and roll into the bread crumbs. Place these eggs in a plate and keep aside. You can store uncooked devils in an airtight container for a week in the refrigerator.

6 Finally, Once you are done with the wrapping of eggs, put a large pan over medium flame and heat oil in it. when the oil is hot enough, add eggs in batches and deep fry them until golden brown in color. Once done, place them on a paper towel and let them soak the extra oil. Egg devils are ready. Enjoy with your friends and family.
