Tasty malpua is a one of the popular Indian Desert. It prepared during festivals. Malpua is deep fried in oil and served hot or dipped in sugar syrup after they are fried. It is popular in Bengal, Maharastra and Odisha.

  • Sooji or semolina 1/2 cup
  • Plain Flour 1 cup
  • Sugar 2 Tbsp
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Water 4 Tbs
  • Fennel Seed 1/2 Tsp
  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Chopped Pistachio or almond for garnishing


1Take a big bowl to add 2 tbs of sugar and milk. Mix it until the sugar gets dissolved completely. Add Flour and sooji in the milk. Combine them nicely. Now add a little bit of water and make a semi-thick batter. whisk the batter nicely 4-5mins. The batter is now ready and keeps it aside for 10-15 mins.

2Whisk the batter again after 15 mins. Take a small wok for deep fry. Heat oil in a medium flame. When the oil has become hot completely, pour 1 Tbsp of batter at one time and fry until it gets golden brown from the sides. When malpua cooked from both sides now take it out in a plate. Repeat the process to fry remaining batter.

3Now tasty malpua is ready, put the fried malpua into the sugar syrup. Gently deep it. Soak the malpua in syrup for 20mins. Take it out in a serving plate. Now garnish it with chopped almond and enjoy with your family
